Here’s a short story featuring a dad, a daughter, and the book “Oh, the places you’ll go,” and an excellent supporting cast. Even if you no longer have a preschooler or kindergartner, you may come away with an idea that is similar and very definitely YOU. The story: Dad’s Secret Graduation Present To Daughter Took 13 Years To Make.
It just proves that not all graduation presents have to be pricey material things! A little love and a LOT of imagination really make this a VERY special gift – and then that photo of the Dad, beaming with pride, and his graduate daughter, smiling and VERY happy!! Her wonderful reaction and appreciation just made it all that more special, too…
I see families of all shapes, stripes & colors where I have a part-time job – and I just love to see the interraction of folks and their children. There’s something SO special in those familial bonds – and the fact that no matter how odd/silly/ugly the parent may appear to OTHERS, to his/her child, he/she is EVERYTHING!! I simply never tire of watching this force of Nature and proof that God knew what he was doing!
